IP-based Public Address System in an ADNOC school in Abu Dhabi

The IP-based Public Address System from UDE is installed in one of the several college campus built by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) in Abu Dhabi.

This project in particular had a very specific requirement to which UDE had the most adaptable solution. The requirements for this project were the following: the IP-based Public Address System needed to be extended throughout all the campus including the 120 existing classroooms. Thanks to the IP-based system it was possible to offer to the client a system completely distributed which took advantage of the existing network infrastructure without the need of adding additional cable thus reducing the cost of the installation.

On the other hand, the specific requirement mentioned before came from the sound system required for the classrooms. Each clasroom required the need to mix and broadcast 2 different audio signals: one coming from the IP-based public address system and the other local audio signal coming from the computer within the classroom with which the teacher could show audiovisual content ocassionally.

Thanks to the audio decoder with 25W (IPU-1025), UDE was able to comply with these requirements with one single device. With this device it was possible to connect the local audio input coming from the computer in the classroom as well as the digital audio input coming from the IP-based Public Address System. Likewise, the internal Class-D 25W amplifier, removed the need of adding an additional amplifier since all the speakers could be connected directly to the decoder. Besides, the fact that both configuration and monitoring of the device is done via Webserver and mostly because of its compact design, it enabled the client or contractor to be able to install the device in a hidden or non-disturbing way either on the false ceiling or any other location.

Aside from the IP-based public address system, other UDE equipment was also installed for this project such as the DSP active line array speakers (ACD-3008) for the conference halls as well as the pre-recorded message player (GD-36) which enables the automatic broadcasting of messages by using an internal calendar.
